The Penguin’s Scrapped Robert Pattinson Batman Scene Could Have Fixed A Major Complaint & Set Up The Batman 2*
Robert Pattinson"s Batman was at one point meant to appear in
The Penguin, and the revealed details of the scrapped Batman scene would have fit the direction his Bruce Wayne is headed in The Batman - Part II. The Penguin"s cast of characters was
led by Colin Farrell"s Oz Cobb, with many exciting new players to Matt Reeves" The Batman franchise debuting in the DC series. Cristin Milioti"s Sofia Falcone was the biggest of them, fighting Oz for control of Gotham City"s criminal underworld.
After Oz was victorious, The Penguin"s finale showed the Bat-Signal lighting up the sky, hinting at the Penguin and Batman going up against each other in The Batman - Part II. That brief finale moment was the only direct link to Batman in the DC series, and
the Dark Knight"s absence became the major complaint about The Penguin. Despite Oz and Sofia having left a trail of bodies in Gotham, which included a bomb exploding in Crown Point, Batman was nowhere to be seen. However, it turns out that there were once plans for Pattinson to appear in The Penguin.
The Penguin Scrapped A Batman Appearance Bruce Wayne Could Have Met A Major Character Close While Robert Pattinson was never meant to show up as Batman in the DC series, The Penguin"s crew had plans for him to appear as Bruce Wayne. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, The Batman franchise creator Matt Reeves revealed that they toyed with a few possible ways to include Batman in the show.
One of those would have seen Pattinson"s Bruce Wayne meet Rhenzy Feliz"s Victor Aguilar. However, that idea was ultimately scrapped before making it into the DC series" script, as Reeves says, "But even that ended up throwing things off too much."
