Marvel"s Bast Explained: Black Panther God & Thor Connection*

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever focused heavily on Shuri's connection to Bast, the MCU's Panther Goddess, who has an interesting Thor: Love and Thunder connection. Bast was first mentioned in Captain America: Civil War, with the introduction to the MCU's T'Challa, played by the late Chadwick Boseman. Bast was also directly referenced in the opening of Black Panther, revealing that the goddess was directly involved in creating the first Black Panther.
Because of Bast's immense importance to Wakandan culture, the goddess has been mentioned many times in both Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
