Star Wars Explains How First Order Armor Evolved From Stormtroopers*

This post contains SPOILERS for The Mandalorian season 3, episode 7As seen in The Mandalorian, Star Wars has revealed a crucial stage for stormtrooper armor and its evolution from the Empire to the First Order. Through the efforts of the Imperial Remnant and Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito), a new kind of stormtrooper has been created during the New Republic era in the years following Return of the Jedi and the Battle of Endor. Inspired by Gideon's primary enemies, this new armor also evokes the Empire's future.
In The Mandalorian season 3, episode 7, Moff Gideon is revealed to have escaped New Republic custody after his defeat in the finale of The Mandalorian season 2. Now, several Mandalorian factions have united under the leadership of Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) in an attempt to reclaim their homeworld of Mandalore, only to discover that Gideon has been hiding on the planet with an entire secret base with squadrons of TIE fighters at his disposal. However, he also has the Imperial Remnant's brand-new stormtroopers who are all perfectly equipped to destroy Mandalorians.
