Titans Reveals Beast Boy’s True Power & New Superhero Name*

Warning: The following contains SPOILERS for Titans season 4, episode 9, "Dude, Where's My Gar?"The true power of The Red and Beast Boy have been revealed in Titans, inspiring Gar Logan to take up a new codename. The HBO Max series has taken criticism from those who felt that Beast Boy was improperly utilized, acting as a supporting character and humorous foil to the rest of the ensemble while never getting a serious storyline of his own. Thankfully, Titans season 4 began to correct the mistakes of past seasons, building upon Beast Boy's untapped potential and pushing him toward becoming the hero that he is in the comics.
The action of Titans season 4, episode 9, "Dude, Where's My Gar?" centered entirely around Gar "Beast Boy" Logan and revealed just what happened to him after Beast Boy's sudden disappearance in the mid-season finale of Titans season 4. The episode introduced the hero Freedom Beast, who previously appeared to Beast Boy in disguise and told him to enter The Red when the battle with Mother Mayhem turned against the Titans. Beast Boy was apparently able to guide his friends in the Titans to safety as Freedom Beast pulled him to his lair on Mount Kilimanjaro so that he could teach Beast Boy the full scope of his powers.
