Picard Season 3 Gives Sulu A Dark Star Trek Legacy*

Warning: SPOILERS for Star Trek: Picard Season 3, Episode 9 - "Vox."The catastrophic turn of events during Star Trek: Picard season 3's Frontier Day celebrations give Captain Hikaru Sulu (George Takei) a dark Star Trek legacy. In the penultimate episode of Picard's final season the true, horrifying extent of the Changelings' plan for Jack Crusher (Ed Speelers) and Starfleet is revealed. Discovering that Jack inherited Borg DNA from his father Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart), the Changelings have allied themselves with the Borg to assimilate the entire fleet instantaneously during Frontier Day.
As the Borg DNA only affects the younger members of the crew, there's still hope for Picard and the Star Trek: The Next Generation crew to save the day in Star Trek: Picard's season 3 finale. However, there have already been many casualties of the Borg plan, including Captain Liam Shaw (Todd Stashwick) and Admiral Elizabeth Shelby (Elizabeth Dennehy). The clash between the last generation and the next also claims the lives of the crew of the USS Excelsior NCC-42037, a starship that has a connection to Star Trek: The Original Series' Captain Hiraku Sulu, whose namesake is partly responsible for the carnage.
