Marvel"s Big New Villain Created The MCU"s Mutants According To Smart Fan Theory*

Mutants are now confirmed to exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but their origins and backstory in this universe are still unknown, and their existence might be thanks to the MCU’s newest big villain. The presence of mutants in the MCU was rumored for years, and it wasn’t until the Disney/Fox merge and the introduction of the multiverse that their existence was confirmed, with new characters, like Kamala Khan, being mutants as well. The return of Patrick Stewart’s Professor X in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Wolverine’s return in Deadpool 3 opens the door for more members of the X-Men to join the MCU, and thus explore their origins a bit deeper.
Although an X-Men movie hasn’t been confirmed as part of the MCU’s Multiverse Saga, Marvel might have already started building the foundation for their arrival at the MCU and to make their origin story fit with what this connected universe has built in over a decade. The MCU has made various changes to the comic book backstories and origins of its characters, and the mutants won’t be an exception, more so as they are arriving at a time when the MCU is already quite extensive and has progressed a lot. With this in mind, a theory suggests a different origin for the mutants that links them to one of the MCU’s most terrifying villains: the High Evolutionary, the villain of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
