Star Wars Sets Up A Big Cal Kestis Story For Jedi: Survivor*

Star Wars has set up a surprising potential romance between Order 66 survivor Cal Kestis and the Nightsister Merrin, one that could have a massive impact on Jedi: Survivor. Order 66 was not the first Jedi Purge in history, but it was undoubtedly one of the most effective. All over the galaxy, Jedi fell to the guns of the clone troopers they had been commanding just moments earlier. It wasn't a complete slaughter; there were a small number of survivors, ranging from the most Force-sensitive Jedi who sensed what was happening to Padawans saved by the sacrifice of their masters. These survivors found themselves living in a very different galaxy, one where the balance of the Force had been tipped decisively towards the dark side. It is no wonder they became known as the Dark Times.
One of the most intriguing Order 66 Jedi survivors is Cal Kestis, a Jedi Padawan who initially tried to keep his head down but ultimately wound up part of a small group of proto-rebels. His story is told in the Jedi: Fallen Order game, in which Cal gathers an unlikely found family around himself, one that even includes a Nightsister of Dathomir. The Empire wiped out the Nightsisters sometime after the fall of the Jedi, and Merrin was their sole survivor. Cal and his friends will return in the upcoming Jedi: Survivor game, but now Lucasfilm has released a tie-in novel revealing what happened to them in the years between these games.
