Why The MCU Doesn"t Use The Quantum Realm"s Original Name*

Warning: spoilers for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania are ahead!Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania presented a deep exploration of the Marvel Cinematic Universe subatomic location known as the Quantum Realm, but the movie could not include the iconic Marvel location's original name. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania took little time in getting Paul Rudd's Scott Lang and the rest of the Ant-Man family into the Quantum Realm to deal with Jonathan Majors' Kang, however, while the movie did give the best look at the Quantum Realm yet, an important part was missing.
Marvel Studios introduced the concept of the Quantum Realm in the first movie of the Rudd-led trilogy— 2015's Ant-Man. The setting is based on a subatomic realm that has been a location of Marvel Comics since the 1940s, with the realm being home to a number of microscopic civilizations that have interacted with some of Marvel's most famous heroes. While Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania takes full advantage of the Quantum Realm and its cities/ inhabitants, the movie never uses the realm's original name — the Microverse — as Marvel is not allowed to do so anymore.
