Why The DC Universe Will Be More Like Star Wars (Not The MCU)*

It's recently been teased that the new DC Universe established by James Gunn and Peter Safran will have more in common with Star Wars than it will the MCU. Following the current slate of films for 2023, the next era coming from DC Studios new heads will begin in earnest. As such, its similarities to the galaxy far, far away should prove to be a significant advantage and benefit as a fresh start for the cinematic universe.
Thanks to a major announcement video and several interviews, Gunn and Safran have been very busy promoting the first chapter of the new DC Universe, "Gods of Monsters". However, an interview with Gizmodo in particular saw Gunn noting a desire to model the DCU after Disney's Star Wars franchise. Based upon his comments, it seems as though those similarities will come from two key areas, both of which have the potential to create a very distinct universe that sets itself apart from Marvel.
