A new Daredevil: Born Again fan poster showcases a terrifying look for Jon Bernthal's Punisher following the announcement that the actor would return to the role in the Disney+ series. Bernthal premiered as the Punisher in the old Netflix Daredevil series during season 2. His Frank Castle went on to headline his own The Punisher series on Netflix, consisting of two seasons. Following the show's cancellation exactly a month after the premiere of The Punisher season 2 in 2019, Bernthal now gets to reprise the role in Daredevil: Born Again, joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

What happened to Bernthal's Punisher between Netflix and he new Daredevil series on Disney+ will likely be revealed during Daredevil: Born Again. The actor is the third confirmed return for the series from the Netflix Defenders universe, with the other two being Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/ Kingpin, after having returned in Disney+'s Hawkeye, and Daredevil: Born Again leading man Cox. Bernthal's return as the Punisher provides some clues about the new Daredevil series.
