10 Classic Spider-Man Team-Ups We Still Want To See In The MCU*
The MCU could feature some classic
Spider-Man team-ups in the future, and thankfully there are many great options for them to play with. The web-slinging hero’s future in the MCU is ever in question due to ongoing contract negotiations with Sony and their own interests in developing their own movie franchise. Nevertheless, it seems safe to say that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is here to stay in the MCU and his next trilogy is in development in some form. There’s even a chance Spider-Man 4 could be part of the yet-unannounced Phase 6 slate.
Spider-Man: No Way Home’s shocking conclusion erased Peter Parker from the universe’s collective memory, so the MCU could certainly change pace and introduce all sorts of new characters for Spider-Man to work with. However, Sony’s plans for their own franchise - Sony’s Spider-Man Universe that currently lacks a Spider-Man - including Madame Web, starring Sydney Sweeney as Spider-Woman, may sour specific characters’ prospects. Nevertheless, it’s for the best that they don’t repeat the same formula even if Zendaya’s MJ and Jacob Batalon’s Ned are intrinsically synonymous with the MCU’s Spider-Man. Their time will certainly come again, but for now, others deserve their chance to team up with Spider-Man.
