Batman: Caped Crusader Gets Major Positive Update*

J.J. Abrams and Matt Reeves' upcoming Batman: Caped Crusader gets a major positive update as the show gets a new home. While the new DC Universe is being crafted by DC Studios, Elseworlds-based projects are still happening. One such project, announced years ago, is Batman: Caped Crusader, a new animated take on the Dark Knight. Developed by Abrams, Reeves, and Bruce Timm, the show was initially slated for HBO Max. However, things took a turn when Batman: Caped Crusader lost its place at the streamer and was being shopped around. In August 2022, Netflix and Apple+ TV emerged as frontrunners for the DC animated series.
It has been almost a year since the last update about the streaming show's future, but things are now moving forward. THR is reporting Batman: Caped Crusader is being finalized to land at Amazon. The Abrams and Reeves-produced series is getting a two-season order, though no premiere date is set yet. According to the trade, Hulu was another potential home before Amazon picked Batman: Caped Crusader up. As of now, representatives of all the involved parties have not commented, as THR stated "formal deals have not yet closed."
