Joker: Folie à Deux set photos give a better look at Lady Gaga's Harley Quinn in the movie. The film is a sequel to 2019's Joker, which became the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all-time, and amassed a number of important awards, including a Best Actor win for star Joaquin Phoenix at the Oscars. Now, Joker: Folie à Deux is going bigger, with a musical theme for the sequel — a pioneer among superhero movies — that adds Gaga's version of DC's Harley Quinn alongside Phoenix's Joker.
On Twitter, Home of DCU shared the first set photos of Gaga filming Joker: Folie à Deux.
Margot Robbie isn't Harley Quinn in Joker 2, as the movie is set in a different universe from the main DC one, as explained by new DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn at the January DC Universe slate reveal. Joker: Folie à Deux is an "Elseworlds" story, which allows the movie to experiment with the laws of superhero movies as director Todd Phillips sees fit, as well as deviate from the source material, which some rumors indicate to be the case where Gaga's Harley Quinn is concerned.
