The Dark Knight Trilogy Repeated 1 Specific Villain Trick In Each Movie*

Each movie in The Dark Knight trilogy had different villains, but the main ones repeated the same trick in their respective stories. Batman and his most notable enemies have been adapted to the big screen on different occasions, going through different styles and tones, but Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy is widely regarded as the best film version of the Caped Crusader. It all started in 2005 with Batman Begins, which told the backstory of Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) and his training to become Batman, and saw him face three villains: Ra’s al Ghul (Liam Neeson), Carmine Falcone (Tom Wilkinson), and Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow (Cillian Murphy).
The second installment, The Dark Knight, saw the arrival of the Joker (Heath Ledger) and Harvey Dent’s (Aaron Eckhart) transformation into Two-Face, and is widely regarded as one of the best superhero movies ever made. Closing the trilogy was The Dark Knight Rises, where Batman came face to face with Bane (Tom Hardy) and Talia al Ghul (Marion Cotillard), the latter first posing as Wayne Enterprises’ CEO Miranda Tate. Although each main villain had different backstories and motivations, they all ended up repeating the same trick, so they might have not been so different after all.
