As the final film in the MCU's Phase 4, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever brought Marvel Studios' audiences back to a grieving Wakanda in the wake of King T'Challa's death by an undisclosed illness. While Wakanda Forever was packed full of emotion, one new character was introduced who will be very important to the MCU's future, as Dominique Thorne's Riri Williams is set to be a major player in Phase 5 and beyond.
Set to appear next in Ironheart on Disney+, Riri Williams has been billed as Iron Man's legacy hero in the MCU, even using Stark tech to design her own prototype Ironheart armor. While Black Panther: Wakanda Forever gave audiences a brief glimpse into the life of Riri Williams, Ironheart is set to explore her backstory even further, particularly focusing on her life in Chicago, as well as her genius being put to the test at MIT, and her potential connection to the MCU's Tony Stark. Wakanda Forever might have also provided the perfect tease to make one villainous organization an important aspect of Williams' MCU journey.
