There are still many heroes who have yet to be confirmed for the new DC Universe, and some major characters need to appear before the franchise's Chapter One is over. In January 2023, DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran revealed the first projects in the DCU. The duo said that the movies and series revealed would be the first part of the DCU's Chapter One: "Gods and Monsters."
While DC unveiled multiple movies, series, and animated projects, many important characters from DC Comics were absent from the DCU lineup. Gunn explained that the projects revealed made up less than half of the full slate of the DCU's Chapter One. As such, the coming months and years should see the announcement of upcoming movies and series from DC that are currently being kept a secret.
